英文摘要:
      Bauxite is one of numerous mineral resources researched by C. Y.Hsieh in China during his 50-year geological career. He studied the bauxite in central Shandong under a microscope. He discovered the high grade bauxite ore beds in central Guizhou by beded sampling. He proved that the bauxite deposits in Yunnan and Guizhou belong to the same type. He solved the problem of mineral composition of China’s bauxite under harsh conditions. Pointing out the differences between China’s bauxite and that of other parts of the world, Hsieh proposed that the Chinese bauxite is a new type called the Old Aged Redeposited Terra Rosa type or Old Aged Terra Rosa type. Hsieh discovered and explained vertical zonation and secondary enrichment phenomena of the bauxite deposits in the central Guizhou. Hsieh discovered the gibbsite deposit in Zhangpu, Fujian. Hsieh pointed out range of reconnaissance for bauxite deposits in China. Hsieh’ research results on bauxite deposits in China are immortal. It is very unreasonable for China’s geological community to forget Hsieh’ contributions to the research into bauxite deposits in China. 
